SONS OF HIRAM - District Projects and Events & How to Join In

"Sons of Hiram" 29th Masonic District Pennsylvania

A Younger Masons Social and Charitable Group

If you are in the the 29th District and in the age range 18-39 you are automatically included in the District SOH group...

WHO & WHAT WE ARE: October, 2021

"Sons of Hiram" is a "social club" EXCLUSIVELY for younger Masons within the 29th Masonic District who are between the ages of 18 and 39. It is reorganizing as things open up once again following the pandemic lockdowns and hopes to include ALL the younger members of the district in the activities. To that end, an email account has been established which includes email addresses of all the members of the 29th district in this age range who have provided their lodge secretary with a contact email address. These members will be receiving an email notifying them of their automatic inclusion in the group ...and will provide an ongoing communication link for future activities and events.

First there will be a reorganization meeting scheduled either on Zoom or in-person at an off-lodge location. As to the activities, these will be decided by the group and can include spouses or significant others. These could include masonic widow assistance projects, picnics, sporting events, golfing, bowling, night out dinners, fund raising for a charity, you name it. Maybe even a roving district degree conferral team?

Recent Activities:

The Sons of Hiram, 29th District, a Masonic group for younger brothers 18-39 arranged a plan to support our local first responders during these trying times. Our first responders are on the front lines of the COVID-19 Pandemic and we want to thank them and let them know there are people out there that care and are thinking of them. This effort included the above pictured recipients.

After careful consideration and planning we arranged for lunch provided on Friday, May 8, 2020, by East Maiden Sub Shop located on East Maiden Street. It was picked up and delivered to them directly. We followed all state, federal, and local regulations regarding the safety of Covid-19.

It was then decided by SOH members that part of the donations received will be given towards a granite bench being placed in the East Washington's Flagpole park at the corner of Wade Ave and Beau Streets. This bench is in memory of John David Dryer, East Washington Police Officer, killed in the line of duty near the Beau St. exit of I70 December 19, 2011. The SOH donated $300.00 towards this project. Presentation for this project was made on Wednesday, June 3, 2020

We are asking the members of the entire 29th Masonic District to continue to aid in our efforts to support and say thank you to our beloved local first responders. They need our support now more than ever and we want to be there for them. We also want to say thank you to all Essential Workers for answering the call every day to keep America moving the best it can.

We hope through these continuing efforts we can show what Freemasonry can do for others during a time when so much is uncertain.

Sincerely & Fraternally,

SOH 29th District Project Team
